You can assign a landing page to your own subdomain in the Smart Pages platform. A free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate will be automatically installed for your domain when you add it to your account.

This guide will show you how to set up a domain registered via Google Domains. Before you manage the DNS records, add the domain in Smart Pages.

Access the DNS management zone

  1. Log into Google Domains.
  2. Go to My domains, find your domain on the list and click on Manage.
  1. Go to the DNS tab on the left, scroll down to the very bottom and locate the Custom resources records section.

Redirecting a www subdomain

Add new A and CNAME records.

If you already have the A record or the www CNAME record, edit them. Copy and paste the following values:

Type A

IPV4 address: 174.129.25.170

Type CNAME

Name: www

Domain name: cname.smartpages.com.

Remember to add a dot at the end of the domain name value for the CNAME record.

Redirecting a subdomain – other than www

Add a new CNAME record. Copy and paste the following values:

Type CNAME

Name: your subdomain name

Domain name: cname.smartpages.com.

Remember to add a dot at the end of the domain name value for the CNAME record.

Finish the configuration in Smartpages

Go back to Smartpages and confirm the redirection.

Our system is verifying if DNS redirections have been done correctly. During this time, a clock icon will be visible next to the domain with the information that the domain is being verified. Usually, the domain will be active a few hours after adding it, but the total waiting time depends on the number of domains in our system waiting in the queue to install the certificate. We will email when the domain is installed correctly.

A green globe icon indicates an active domain. You can assign it to your landing page.
