Our heatmap generator (so-called Smart Maps) is based on artificial intelligence and predictive eye-tracking technology, based on deep learning. The generator was trained on 30,800 images used for eye tracking research and analyzed 4,000 landing page designs and pages.
Our AI-based algorithm evaluates the visibility of design elements using heatmaps that are 90% accurate compared to actual eye-tracking studies but without the need to collect this data.
The artificial intelligence algorithm can automatically detect changes in visual attention that can be used as a substitute for eye-tracking studies.
In summary, PageInsider™ is an analytical tool that will enable marketers and design teams to improve their design efficiency. Thanks to Smart Maps, you can check which elements on your landing page attract the most attention. This will allow you to better optimize your landing page before publication.
There are many use cases for Smart Maps. Here are a few of them:
- Conversion rate optimization;
- Preparation of marketing materials for A/B tests;
- Conducting audits of existing projects;
- Design ideas verification;
- Providing customers with arguments for design decisions;
- Defining benchmarks against the competition.
What makes PageInsider™ different from other heatmaps?
All heatmaps are a visual way to present data that shows how visitors interact with your artwork. Each type of heatmaps shows different data. Therefore, it is essential to understand what data you are visualizing. Here are some examples:
Mouse tracking heatmaps (hover, click, scroll maps) record, quantify, and represent mouse or trackpad movement data. To make accurate determinations, you need to register your users and have a sufficient sample size (around 2,000-3,000 according to CXL).
Eye-tracking heatmaps collect and visualize data about sections and elements of the website that attract the most and least attention. To make accurate determinations, you must have eye-tracking software and devices, recruit enough users (at least 39 to generate heatmaps according to NN/g), and record their behavior.
AI-based Smart Maps, like eye-tracking heatmaps, show you which areas of your visual material have been viewed most and least frequently. You can check that the key information is in the area visible to most users.
The Smart Map, compared to mouse-tracking heat maps, indicates the areas which the users look at the most frequently. Data collection is not required in our Smart Map, as the AI algorithm uses pre-recorded data based on eye-tracking studies with a total of 30,800 images and generates heatmaps in seconds. It is a much faster and cheaper option with an accuracy of 90-94% compared to eye tracking. The whole process of landing page analysis only takes up to 90 seconds.
